The bus will drop us off at the Port Authority bus terminal at 625 8th Avenue.  Our plan is to arrive between 11:00am and 11:30am

According to Google map, it is a 6 minute walk to the theatre.

Assuming that you would like to grab lunch before the show, I have included a link for an interactive map for your reference .  Just be sure to be at the theatre 1/2 hour before the show so you can be seated in time.

You must be back at Port Authority to the 4th floor Gate # 401 for the 6pm departure.  If you miss the bus, it is your responsibility to find a way back home.

We will be stopping at the Suburban Diner for dinner on the way home.

(Please note that the dinner is not included in your ticket price.)

Information provided to us in your application form for the trip regarding your emergency contact and important health information will be printed on the back of your name badge.  Seat # for the bus and theatre seat # will be printed on the front of the tags.  We have included  a qr code that you can scan with your cell phone to open an interactive Google map with directions to and from the theatre.

I have also included my business card with contact information should you need to contact me while we are on the trip. My cell # is 570-470-9532.

It has been quite a while since The Good Time Travelers have hosted a bus trip so we are very excited to get back with the gang  making memories that will last a lifetime, and are hoping to do more trips in the near future!

Details about the theatre

The Broadhurst Theatre

HISTORY

George H. Broadhurst, the Anglo-American manager and playwright (1866-1952), built his eponymous theatre in association with the Shubert brothers. Broadhurst had previously managed theatres in Milwaukee, Baltimore, and San Francisco (and written many popular plays). The playhouse has remained one of the Shubert Organization’s most consistently booked theatres.

ARCHITECTURE

Mirror images of each other, the Broadhurst and the neighboring Plymouth Theatre, which opened within two weeks of each other, were the brainchild of architect Herbert J. Krapp, and were his first independent commissions. While the two playhouses are nearly identical on the outside, the Broadhurst's interior employs Doric columns, and Greek-style cornices and friezes. Its spare exterior is decorated with brickwork, enhanced by touches of stone and terra-cotta trim.
